Kompayak Propamuk, Thai, ranked 10 by WBC, who will face the World Light Flyweight Champion Edgar Sosa (34-5, 18 KOs) on March 28 in Cuidad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
Another boxer, also Thai, had been mentioned but Jacques Deschamps, Sosa manager, confirmed this news.
Kompayak (31-3, 22 KOs) should represent a strong challenger for the Mexican champ. He is a former Muay Thai champion, won of 19 of his last 20 fights and holds a current crown ofAsian Boxing Council at 108 pounds division.
The onlylosi on the record ofthe Thailander in the last 6 years has been a controversial technical decision againstformer flyweight prospectHussein Hussein in Australia in 2007, where even fights Kompayak knocked his opponent in the first round.
Deschamps states: "We are aware of the dangers of Kompayak formed the tough school of Muay Thai, but Sosa is not avoiding the hard challenger. Edgar is achampion and he could handle it."
The fight will be the first World boxing championship fight in Victoria City, birthplace of President of the WBC, Dr. Jose Sulaiman.
